About this Special Issue
Special Issue dedicated to the Lisbon 2024 Conferences on Water, Waste and Energy Management, on Green Energy and Environmental Technology, and on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Engineering
Background
This Special Issue is related to three Conferences taking place in Lisbon, Portugal during July 2024. They cover a wide range of research topics, all of them needing further investigation, which will be fed with the contributions presented at these Conferences. This Special Issue will receive submissions corresponding to some of the works presented, although it could be also open to other high-quality manuscripts related to the themes but not specifically shown at the congresses.
As indicated on the websites of the Conferences, the topics to be discussed are:
1. Water, Waste and Energy Management (7th International Congress of Water, Waste and Energy - WWEM-24)
2. Green Chemistry and Sustainable Engineering (6th International Conference on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Engineering - GreenChem-24)
3. Green Energy and Environmental Technology (3rd International Conference on Green Energy and Environmental Technology - GEET-24)
Aims and scope
Knowing that the Spanish Journal of Soil Science publish papers on Soil and Environmental Sciences, and due to the themes covered in the Conferences, this Special Issue will be mainly directed to the field of Environmental Studies.
In view of the objectives of the congresses, although also considering eventual high-quality manuscripts not presented in Lisbon 2024, some of the specific aspects to be covered in the SI will be:
Within Water, Waste and Energy Management:
Sector 1 (Water): Efficient use of water, Management of water, Water supply, Effluent treatment, Depuration, Water policy, Safety and Quality of Underground Water
Sector 2 (Waste): Municipal waste management, Solid urban waste management, Industrial waste, Administration and corporation waste management, Medical waste management, Dangerous wastes management, Agricultural waste management, Technologic waste management, Inert waste management (construction), Alimentary/organic waste management, Treatment of wastewater and stormwater, Recycling, Waste management policies, Ecologic design, Industrial ecology, Architecture, urbanism and ecologic landscaping
Sector 3 (Energy): Renewable energies, Energetic installations, Converting waste to energy, Converting waste into fuel, Management of energetic projects, Control of other energy sources, Ecologic design, Industrial ecology, Architecture, urbanism and ecologic landscaping.
Within Green Chemistry and Sustainable Engineering:
Renewable Energies, Energy Transition and Innovation, Innovation in Clean Technologies, Policy, Governance and Social Impact, as well as Sustainable Practices
Within Renewable Energies and Environmental Technologies:
Green Chemistry, Green Processes, Sustainable Engineering, and Green Materials.
The Spanish Journal of Soil Science has an Impact Factor of 2.0 and Citescore of 2.2.

As a Gold open-access journal, all submissions are subject to publishing fees. Authors can benefit from financial support from their institution through Frontiers' Institutional Agreements.
