Background

Breast Cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Recent advances in genomics and molecular biology have unveiled new candidate genes that could serve as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets.

We therefore invite researchers and clinicians to submit original research articles, reviews, and case studies for a Special Issue on ‘New Candidate Genes for Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Prognosis and Therapeutic Targets’. This Special Issue of the British Journal of Biomedical Science (Impact Factor of 2.7 and Citescore of 4.4) aims to explore the genetic landscape of breast cancer, highlighting novel findings that can enhance our understanding of the disease and inform future therapeutic strategies.

Scope
In this Special Issue, we are particularly interested in studies that aim, but are not limited to:

- Identify and characterise novel candidate genes associated with breast cancer initiation, progression and prognosis.
- Investigate the functional roles of these genes in breast cancer biology and explore the potential of those genes as biomarkers for early detection and precision medicine strategies.
- Examine the therapeutic implications of targeting these genes in breast cancer treatment.
- Discuss the integration of multi-omics approaches in identifying new genetic biomarkers.

Many article types are welcomed, including original research papers, reviews, bioinformatics papers and Biomedical Science in Brief articles. We look forward to receiving manuscript submissions on these areas and other related topics.

Any questions? Please email the Publishing Office.

IBMS Members
IBMS members can benefit from a full waiver of the APC and should email the Editorial Office with their IBMS membership reference number prior to submission of the manuscript to confirm their waiver.
