Precision oncology has revolutionized cancer treatment by moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach toward personalized therapies tailored to the genetic, molecular, and cellular characteristics of each tumor. The identification of biomarkers and the development of targeted therapies have significantly improved treatment efficacy while reducing adverse effects. However, challenges remain, including tumor heterogeneity, acquired resistance, and the need for more effective predictive models.
This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advancements in biomarker discovery, targeted therapy development, and personalized medicine strategies, bridging the gap between molecular oncology and clinical practice.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Biomarker Discovery and Validation: Identification of predictive and prognostic biomarkers for therapy selection
• Pan-omics and Liquid Biopsies: Advances in genomic profiling, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), non-coding RNA (ncRNA), metabolites, and non-invasive diagnostics, emphasizing their clinical translation
• Targeted Therapies and Small Molecule Inhibitors: Development of kinase inhibitors, hormone therapies, and novel targeted agents
• Precision Immunotherapy: Personalized approaches in immune checkpoint blockade, CAR-T cell therapy, tumor microenvironment modulation, and neoantigen-based therapeutic vaccines
• Drug Resistance in Precision Oncology: Mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies and strategies to overcome them
• Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Cancer Treatment: Machine learning applications in biomarker identification, AI-driven drug discovery, and treatment optimization
• Clinical Trials and Translational Research: Case studies on the successful implementation of precision oncology in clinical practice.
We invite articles presenting innovative strategies in precision oncology, with a particular focus on integrating biomarker research with novel therapeutic approaches. This Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research shaping the future of personalized cancer therapy, bringing together experts in oncology, bioinformatics, and pharmacology.
