Chronic Pain following Hernia Repair

Led by Prof. Dr. Eske Aasvang (Denmark), Prof. Dr. David Chen (United States) and Dr. Willem Zwaans (the Netherlands), this Special Issue will update on all aspects involving management of chronic pain of the abdominal wall and groin. We invite all interested authors to submit their papers evaluating the management of the complex problem of (chronic) pain after different types hernia repair (including but not limited to inguinal, ventral, incisional, parastomal and hiatal hernias). We welcome submissions of reviews (scoping, systematic, narrative), original research (quantitative and qualitative), and commentaries.

Suggestions for topics:

- Conservative treatments for pain after hernia repair (including topical agents)
- Surgical treatments for pain after hernia repair (including mesh removal)
- Botox (for AWR) and pain
